Buttons or Knobs Not Working Even Though Connector Shows Connected

Buttons or Knobs Not Working Even Though Connector Shows Connected

SYMPTOMS

Your Aviatek devices are visible in Aviatek Connector and the simulator connection status is correct, but pressing buttons or rotating knobs does not result in any action inside the simulator (X-Plane or MSFS).

Typical examples:

  • Softkeys do nothing
  • FMS knob rotations do not react
  • COM/NAV controls do not change values
  • Buttons illuminate correctly but no action happens in the sim

EXPLANATION

In most cases, this happens because the AutoRun function inside Aviatek Connector has been disabled.

When AutoRun is disabled, Aviatek Connector detects both the simulator and the connected devices correctly, but it does not actively send commands to the simulator.

SOLUTION

  1. Open Aviatek Connector
  2. Locate the AutoRun button inside the application
  3. Make sure the AutoRun function is enabled
  4. If it was disabled, enable it and test the buttons again

If the problem still persists after enabling AutoRun:

  • Restart both the simulator and Aviatek Connector
  • Disconnect and reconnect the USB devices
  • Verify that the correct aircraft and avionics configuration is loaded

For MSFS users, also make sure that the Aviatek MSFS plugin is installed correctly.
